Expatriate Workers

Issues relating to seconding British workers overseas - whether to a subsidiary of the UK employer, a related company or to an un-related organisation - can be complex. The same applies to workers who travel, such as airline employees. The right to second overseas will initially depend on the employment contract, but the laws governing the employee may depend on local jurisdictions and rules as much as UK law - ie each situation can vary greatly, so this is one area where specific advice should be sought, not least in the country of posting.
