Complying with Data Protection
Most organisations will have a basic record of workers from their original application form and will also hold other personal information. In many cases this means you are required to register under the requirements of the Data Protection Act. The Information Commissioner Office website www.ico.gov.uk can give guidance on the exemptions and on the requirements of the Data Protection Act. Registering is a relatively easy and inexpensive process and the forms can be obtained online.
