Advertising

Advertisements need to be designed and presented effectively to attract the best candidates. You can look though national, local or professional papers to see examples of advertisements that may catch the eye and best represent your vacancy. Advertisements must be tailored to the level of the target audience, and should always be clear and easily understood. They must also be non-discriminatory and should avoid any gender or culturally specific language (unless sex, age, religion, race or sexual orientation is a genuine occupational requirement of the job). To support this, it can be a good idea to include a statement along the lines: 'we support equal opportunities' - though this is not a legal requirement.
