Overtime Pay There is no legal requirement for companies to pay workers overtime if they work additional hours - however, it is normal to do so. The employment contract should include details of what rates are paid and how these are calculated. These terms will then be contractual and cannot be changed in any significant way without prior consultation and, depending on the exact wording of the contract, the employer's consent.
