Discrimination

Discrimination at work on the grounds of race, sex, disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation or age is unlawful. It is one of the most contentious areas of employment law and one of the most difficult for employers to get right. The penalties are also unlimited.

Remember, too, that employers can additionally be liable for their employees’ discriminatory conduct. Age discrimination regulations are also relatively recent and many issues relating to discrimination at work are being both broadened and toughened as case law is made.
